Christmas Lviv turned into a tourist Mecca of Ukraine
Owing to intensive programme of New Year and Christmas celebration, Lviv broke new travel record. Thus, beginning from December 30 to January 7 more than 120 thousand tourists visited Lviv from Russia, Belarus, Poland to enjoy holidays. Upon completion of Christmas holidays programme – December 19 to January 19 – the city authorities expect up to 230 thousand tourists.
City of “sleeping Lions” attracts many tourists with Christmas “exotic”: carols, the Nativity scene, stargazers and general atmosphere. Christmas turned Lviv into real mystery. The main square – Market Square - is saturated with blend of flavors – city celebrated traditional Festival of Pampukh (doughnut). Doughnut – Ukrainian, American, German with powder, sweet and nor very, with poppy and chocolate – these and a great variety of other delicacies could be tasted during the festival.
