Underwater museums as tourist destinations in Ukraine

Beside land-based exhibitions in Ukraine there are unique underwater museums which attract the interest of tourists and diving enthusiasts more and more. Thus, underwater museums work in Odessa, Dnepropetrovsk, Crimea (at Tarhanhut Cape). It is also planned to open underwater museum near Takil Cape in Kerch, which will show the submerged ancient city of Acre.

Unusual and quite popular underwater museum in Ukraine is "Alley leaders" museum which is off the coast of Tarhanhut Cape. It was founded in 1992 by Donetsk divers. In order to see the museum, it is necessary to descend to a depth of 12 meters (100 meters far from the shore), right at the bottom of the Black Sea. The museum has two exhibition halls, which are separated by an arch. The exhibition consists of artifacts of the Soviet period, the busts of artists, writers, sculptors and painters, as well as a mini-copy of the Statue of Liberty, the Eiffel Tower and London Bridge.
