The largest mosque of Crimea and one of the most important attractions of Yevpatoria is Juma-Jami Mosque. For the Crimean peninsula the mosque is a true miracle of Muslim architecture. This structure has 12 domes, with a central dome with a diameter of 11 meters. Shallow domes are placed at the perimeter on three sides. The columns of the mosque are much older than the building. Most likely, they were taken from the ruins of Chersonese lying near. The building's interior is light and majestically restraint: exquisite carving and white limestone and marble. The architect of Juma-Jami Mosque is considered to be a genius of Ottoman architecture Haji Sinan. In our time, the mosque belongs to a Muslim community and is a current cult institution.
