Galushki is a traditional dish of Poltava region of Ukrainian cuisine. Therefore, a symbolic monument - Monument dumplings – was built, which represents the generosity and wealth. This monument is the city card nowadays.

The monument is located in a cozy picturesque location on Cathedral Square. The monument is a huge bowl with 12 concrete dumplings and deep as a ladle, spoon on a pedestal in the form of a wooden countertop, transplanted with traditional Ukrainian embroidered towel.

This grand perpetuation in stone of traditional Ukrainian folk dishes, galushki, happened in Poltava, in April 1, 2006 and was dedicated to the birthday of Ukrainian classics Nikolai Gogol, who made ​​galushki famous throughout the world in his writings.
