St. Nicholas Church
St. Nicholas Church in Chernovtsy is often referred to as "drunk" due to the unusual "twisted" form of the angular drums. This effect is created using high-angled windows. This phenomenon is not a manifestation of the inter-war modernism in architecture, but as an imitation of the style of the medieval Romanian neorominesk. Another interesting feature of the temple is the unusual location of the altar. It was erected on the right of the entrance, and the entrance faces the main street of the city. In the 30th years in Bucharest there was a temple built with like "twisted" drums.
