The National Opera of Ukraine named after Taras Shevchenko

The National Opera of Ukraine named after Taras Shevchenko is a real Temple of Muses, architectural pearl of Kiev. The construction is built at the intersection of the crowded city roads and attracts attention not only art connoisseurs, but passers-by as well. The building of The National Opera of Ukraine named after Taras Shevchenko was designed by Academician Viktor Schröter, who did not live up to the official opening of the Opera building.

Semioval façade of the construction is decorated with modeling, and austere, deep arches rise majestic building in the height. The wonderful interior of the building is made by Venetian mirrors, gilding, bronze, ornamental moldings of the walls and ceiling, marble staircases and mosaic floors, exquisite velvet armchairs and elegant fixtures from Vienna, incredibly beautiful chandelier in the center of the ceiling. The performance may be viewed by 1304 spectators, for to their pleasure curtains go up on the stage almost every evening and let the audience discover wonderful world of singing and dancing.
