Great people of the world in the Crimea
In June 20th at the Museum of World Sculpture and Applied Art in Yevpatoria an updated exposition of great people of the world will be open. It is the only museum of its kind in Ukraine. It attracts the attention of not only the inhabitants of the country, but also tourists from all over the world, as there are such world known people presented in the exposition: brilliant scientists, philosophers, rulers, generals, men of culture and art of all times and peoples. The exhibition consists of 24 busts and 156 portraits of great men.
The most interesting addition to the gallery is a copy of the world-famous statue of Christ the Redeemer, which rises on Mount Corcovado in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil). The height of statue of Christ is 3 meters and a height of the pedestal is 2 meters. Crimean copy made by an artist from Yalta Vladimir Shevchenko, is almost ten times smaller than the original, but it amazes with the skills of the sculptor.
