Ideas for winter holidays: by ski traces of Bukovel

Expanse of sparkling snow fields, the grandeur of mountain peaks, streams of amber sunlight, adrenaline of ski slopes, fragrant mulled wine in national kolybas. To convey the spirit of fairy tales, you should visit … the Carpathians. Of course, most tourists associate the rest in the Carpathians with skiing, snowy slopes and chairlifts. And there is nothing like “Bukovel” tourist complex to live up to these expectations.

Ski resort developed rapidly as if by magic. It was not ten years since there had been nothing. But now the famous Yaremche, Ivano-Frankivsk region, is already basking in the fame that was brought to this town by the new ski resort. There where it’s a stone’s throw away from the village Polyanytsya and “a stone’s throw away” in height, 900 meters above sea level, is a ski tourist complex whose popularity extends beyond Ukraine.

Even the word “Bukovel” has long become synonymous with skiing!

Place for the tourist complex was prompted by the nature: mountains (Bukovel – 1127 meters, Chorna Kleva – 1246 meters, Dovga – 1372 meters) protect against chilly winter winds on all sides. This is the very thing for skier. The elevation on skiing runs gives the beginner the thrill: from 40 to 285 meters. Here one can slowly roll down the slope for beginners marked on the map in blue. Or one can maneuver in sweeping manner on the steep slopes marked in red.

And if your skiing skills are close to professional – you can rush along almost sheer “black” mountain against the wind in snow spray. Mature rental system can’t be unnoticed: necessary equipment is always available. The choice of skis and sledges for all tastes, skates and ski ammunition boggles the imagination. In short, all the essentials are here.

Not by a slope alone …

The Carpathians can impress even the most ardent fans of alpine skis and snowboards. Crazy descents from a height where you’ll be lifted by helicopter, unique tours on snowmobiles await extreme sports enthusiast. Dogsled walk will be a great fun: Siberian Husky will ride you quick as the wind on sleds along forest trails.

Dreamers and romantics can relax at the spa, feel the charm of the Russian bath and then drink a mulled wine in front of snappy fire in the fireplace of their chalet, contemplating glowing colorful garlands and flakes of snow circling in the air in the floor-to-ceiling window.

Besides winter activities, tourists are offered to visit Ivano-Frankivsk to catch an echo of the past centuries and discover the history of the city and its attractions. Yaremche is a kind of visiting card of the Carpathians where tourists, being on a tour there, learn the history of the city and Oleksy Dovbusha – Carpathian Robin Hood. One can buy souvenirs and crafts at Hutsul souvenir market. Snow-capped mountain peaks and slopes with ski runs, clear sky, dry cold air and bright sun – it is difficult to imagine a more favorable place to rest with family or friends.
