White Gazebo is the visit card of Poltava, the construction, without which people cannot imagine hometown. White Gazebo was built in honor of the meeting of artisans from Poltava with Tsar Peter I. Gazebo of horseshoe shape was chosen on purpose. According to local legend, a blacksmith in this area masterfully shod king's horse, which lost a horseshoe during the battle in Poltava. Horseshoe is bent in the direction of its edges to the Assumption Cathedral and placed in eight of nine meters high columns. Magnificent view opens of the valley of the Vorskla River and part of the city: Poltava Podol, Levada. At the very horseshoe there are Ukrainian gold letters embossed in words – lines from the play "Natalka Poltavka" by great Poltavets Ivan Kotlyarevsky: “Where harmony is in the family, where there is peace and calm, there are happy people and the place is blessed".
