It is hard to imagine Kyiv without the architectural complex of the unique beauty – Kyiv-Pecherska Lavra, lighting up the picturesque banks of Dnieper with the shine of its golden domes.

In any time it remains the main attraction of the Ukrainian capital. For the tourist Kyiv-Pecherska Lavra is a wonderful cultural monument, included to the list of UNESKO World Heritage. For pilgrims Lavra is a powerful spiritual guide, the cradle of Orthodox Christianity.

The ensemble of Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra had being formed for almost nine centuries, and each era has left its mark here. Today, Laura is divided into two parts: the Upper, which is a national historical and cultural reserve. There are many original museums on the territory of the Upper Lavra. The second part – the Lower Lavra is an active monastery, famous for the chain of caves where the relicts of the saints lie.
