Christmas Lviv Turned Into a Tourist Mecca of Ukraine

Owing to the intensive program of New Year and Christmas celebration, Lviv broke a new travel record. Thus, beginning from December 30 to January 7 more than 120 thousand tourists visited Lviv from Russia, Belarus, Poland to enjoy holidays. Upon completion of the Christmas holidays program – December 19 to January 19 –, the city authorities expect up to 230 thousand tourists.

City of “sleeping Lions” attracts many tourists with Christmas “exotic”: carols, the Nativity scene, stargazers and general atmosphere. Christmas turned Lviv into a real mystery. The main square – Market Square - is saturated with a blend of flavors – city celebrated traditional Festival of Pampukh (doughnut). Doughnut – Ukrainian, American, German with powder, sweet and nor very, with poppy and chocolate – these and a great variety of other delicacies could be tasted during the festival.
