Analysts forecast that the UIA (Ukraine International Airlines) will have approximately 70% of the market share. It will control the domestic and international flights of the country.

The fate of the main competitor of the UIA in the past – AeroSvit airlines remains unknown. Some believe that one of the main reasons of AeroSvit’s bankruptcy are high airport fees and high fuel prices. The average fuel cost to fill up the tank is $100 000.

The UIA began leasing AeroSvit’s aircrafts. The UIA got the first Boeing 737-800 from AeroSvit fleet. The second Boeing will be transported on January 14. The UIA will implement at least 20 new directions.
