About Euro-2012

European Football Championship 2012 is the 14th championship of Europe which will take place in Ukraine and Poland on June 8 – July 1, 2012. The slogan of the championship - “Let’s create history together” – was presented together with the logo on December 14, 2009 in Kyiv.

At the beginning five applications from seven countries were chosen: Croatia/Hungary, Greece, Italy, Poland/Ukraine and Turkey. On November 8, 2005 UEFA committee voted for three applications: Poland/Ukraine, Italy and Croatia/Hungary. More detailed information was submitted by the countries-participants and on May 31, 2006 the second selection stage was over. On April 18, 2007 a winner was determined in the city of Cardiff. Ukraine and Poland were given the right to welcome and host Football championship of Europe 2012.

Travel opportunities to Ukraine

The finals of the 14th UEFA European Football Championship will be held in Poland and Ukraine from 8 June to 1 July 2012.

The UEFA EURO-2012 matches will be played in eight stadiums, four in Poland – Gdansk, Poznan, Warsaw, Wroclaw – and four in Ukraine – Donetsk, Lviv, Kharkiv and Kyiv. The opening match will take place in Warsaw on June 8 and the final match - in Kyiv on July 1.

Tickets

Ticket sales are available exclusively on UEFA.com. Ticket prices range from €30 to €600. The purchasing power of local citizens being taken into account, the cheapest tickets cost 50% less than those for UEFA EURO 2008 in Austria and Switzerland.

Hotels

Till March, 2012 none of the hotels in Kyiv, Lviv, Donetsk and Kharkiv reported availability for June. All the hotels were booked by UEFA for teams and staff, Ukrainian Football Federation and City Council. Right now the situation is going to be changed. Almost all the hotels already know how many official delegations plan to come (how many rooms have to be reserved) and they start to propose accommodation for the city guests.
